SYNTERRA·ENERGY
Advanced Closed-Loop Gasification

Waste in.
Power out.

Synterra converts waste streams into baseload energy, fuels, and valuable commodities, transforming disposal liabilities into circular-economy infrastructure for cities, ports, utilities, and industry.

01 · The Problem

Waste is a
growing liability

Every community produces it. Almost none can escape it. Landfills fill, costs climb, and mandates tighten.

Landfills are closing

Disposal capacity is shrinking across North America while waste volumes keep rising, pushing haul distances and tipping costs higher every year.

Methane machines

Decomposing landfill waste emits methane, roughly 80x the near-term warming power of CO₂. Diversion is now a climate mandate, not a preference.

A mountain of tires

Millions of scrap tires are stockpiled or buried every year, creating a fire hazard, a health risk, and an enormous store of untapped energy.

Pressure on operators

Cities, ports, and industrial sites face rising disposal costs and aggressive waste-diversion targets with few real alternatives.

Every ton buried is energy wasted, and a liability that compounds.

02 · The Feedstocks

Fuel is
everywhere

Synterra's process is feedstock-flexible: if it contains hydrocarbons, it's fuel. One platform converts the waste streams cities, ports, hospitals, and industry already produce, with no exotic supply chain required.

STAGE 01 / 04

Feed

Shredded feedstock enters a sealed, oxygen-starved chamber: tires, municipal waste, plastics, coal, biomass, sludge, even medical waste. This is gasification, not incineration. Without oxygen, nothing combusts.

STAGE 02 / 04

Breakdown

Intense heat and pressure vaporize the hydrocarbons. Long molecular chains crack apart as rubber, plastic, and organic matter reduce to their elemental building blocks.

STAGE 03 / 04

Syngas

Carbon and hydrogen reassemble as synthesis gas, CO + H₂, the versatile energy carrier at the heart of the process.

STAGE 04 / 04

Separation

The syngas condenses: 68% becomes Green Bio Fuel, 32% non-condensable gas drives on-site power generation. Solids exit as carbon black, steel, and recovered metals.

04 · The Outputs

One input.
Seven product streams.

What leaves a Synterra plant is useful, not landfilled. Every stream feeds the circular economy.

Electricity

Continuous baseload power from non-condensable gas, 24/7, grid-connected or behind the meter.

Green Bio Fuel

68% of condensed syngas yields Green Bio Fuel for maritime, boilers, and heavy equipment.

Syngas

Clean synthesis gas, a flexible fuel for generation or upgrading into other products.

Carbon Black (N-300)

Recovered from tires, a core industrial commodity for new rubber, inks, and coatings.

High-Tensile Steel

Tire belts and MSW metals recovered clean and returned to the supply chain.

Hydrogen

A pathway to H₂ production from syngas as regional hydrogen demand scales.

Environmental Credits

Landfill diversion and methane avoidance generate carbon and energy attribute credits.

05 · By The Numbers

One unit.
Measured impact.

Operational metrics for a single tire-fed gasification unit.

0 tons/hr

of scrap tires processed, around the clock.

0 million

tires diverted from landfill each year, 60,500 tons annually.

0 gal/ton

of Green Bio Fuel recovered, over 4.1 million gallons per year.

0 MW

of continuous generation, ~108,000 MWh per year, enough for roughly 10,000 homes.

0M lbs

of carbon black recovered annually, plus 9,072 tons of high-tensile steel.

0 kW

generated from a single ton of tanker sludge, alongside 1,360 lbs of Green Bio Fuel.

06 · The Comparison

Renewable, without
the intermittency

Solar and wind are essential, but intermittent. Gasification runs day and night, in any weather, on fuel society pays to get rid of. Capacity factor:

08 · The Plants

Modular. Scalable.
Deployable.

Modular by design

Compact plants sited at ports, industrial parks, and transfer stations. Capacity scales by adding units: start focused, grow with the waste stream.

Storage-integrated

Battery energy storage (BESS) pairs with baseload generation for peak shaving, grid services, and true energy resilience.

Closed-loop emissions

A sealed, patent-pending process with a dedicated carbon cleanup system, designed for net-zero process emissions.

Flexible delivery

Develop-own-operate, public-private partnerships, or co-development with ports, utilities, and municipalities.
